Technical Workshop: Planning future activities to strengthen collaboration between ANME and MEDREC

The Mediterranean Renewable Energy Center (MEDREC), in collaboration with the French National Agency for Energy Management (ANME), organized a workshop on “Planning Future Activities to Strengthen Collaboration between ANME and MEDREC” on February 25, 2021.

During an opening plenary session, MEDREC directors presented the Center’s activities over the past two years, including the REFAT and ICAPT projects, implemented under a technical agreement between the Italian Ministry of the Environment and the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, as well as the Med-EcoSuRe and EauSIRIS projects, funded under the ENI CBC program.

During a second session, roundtable discussions were held to identify potential areas of collaboration and priority actions to be jointly developed in the coming months.

Here are some of the actions defined during this workshop and which will be jointly carried out by the two institutions:

1- Joint participation in calls for projects at the regional and international levels;

2- Development of an action plan for fundraising in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency;

3- Exporting the know-how and technical expertise of ANME engineers to provide training in Africa;

4- Creation of a center of excellence that will serve as a platform for technological development and R&D in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
