The coordinator of the Tunisian-Italian consortium “SATER SOLAR SA,” the winner of the aforementioned call for tenders, was invited to MEDREC for the official receipt of the contract notification letter and the attached registration documents.
This call for tenders involved the construction of a 500 kWp photovoltaic system at the SONEDE pumping station located in Chott El Fejij (Gabes governorate) and was part of the REFAT project “Renewable Energies for Agricultural and Rural Development in Tunisia,” led by MEDREC.
Contributing to national efforts to reduce the country’s dependence on fossil fuels and international efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, this photovoltaic system aims to reduce the pumping station’s energy consumption by approximately 20% and, consequently, avoid the emission of 856 kilotons of CO2.
