The Mediterranean Renewable Energy Center (MEDREC), a partner of the SEACAP4SDG project, organized, in collaboration with the Atmosphères ADD Agency, a co-creation workshop on the theme “Implementation of energy renovation measures for buildings using a Living Lab approach.” This workshop was hosted by the Municipality of Bizerte on June 8, 2023.
The workshop brought together identified stakeholders in Tunisia to present the proposed methodology for the creation and implementation of a Living Laboratory and to discuss planning solutions for energy management measures proposed for the municipality of Bizerte.
The event also featured the three winning projects from the competition held at the National School of Architecture and Urban Planning (May 10-12, 2023), proposing innovative and eco-sustainable energy renovation solutions adapted to the buildings of the municipality of Bizerte.
The municipality of Bizerte, as the main beneficiary, along with other stakeholders, discussed the various scenarios presented and will be able to decide on the final set of renovation measures based on an evaluation grid developed by the project team in Tunisia.
The second part of the workshop was dedicated to introducing stakeholders to the concept of “Green Nudge“, a behavioral science applied to the promotion of ecologically sustainable behaviors, widely promoted to encourage energy savings and changes in energy consumption choices.
Finally, the project team launched a “Green Nudge Challenge,” addressing stakeholders, divided into teams, to present:
A moral appeal: Each team will have to come up with three phrases to encourage users to behave better.
A visual sticker: Each team will have to create one or more stickers based on the principles of behavioral psychology.
The results of this challenge will be presented at an upcoming workshop.
