Med-EcoSuRe launched an online training course on energy performance assessment of existing university buildings for undergraduate and graduate students on October 22, 2022. Developed and delivered by the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design at the University of Campania (Italy), this training course is aimed at students from the National School of Engineers of Tunis (Tunisia), An Najah National University (Palestine), and the University of Campania (Italy).
The first online lesson included an overview of the training, structured as follows:
Theoretical lessons on the energy performance assessment of existing university buildings, aimed at illustrating a design methodology for energy-efficient and high-performance redevelopment;
Workshops during which students will conduct graphical analysis and case studies at MedEcoSuRe pilot sites. During these workshops, student groups will be guided by instructors in assessing the energy performance of the building envelope and efficient technological solutions.
The online course will begin by presenting the regulatory references and basic concepts of energy management in university buildings, with the aim of proposing, by the end of the training, actions to improve the performance of thermal systems and reduce their energy consumption.
