MEDREC took part to the Working Group Meeting of the Global Network on Energy for Sustainable Development (GNESD), which was held on the 28 -29 August 2008 in Roskilde, Denmark.
The objectives of the Working Group meeting were to:
• Present and discuss GNESD Thematic studies on Urban-Peri Urban Energy Access and Energy Security
• Present and discuss future GNESD Thematic studies
• Discuss emerging issues on energy for sustainable development and how GNESD can contribute to addressing these through analytical activities and policy advice
• Present and discuss a new outreach and communication strategy for the network
• Stock taking of the two-year GNESD strategic plan, work programme, and budget

MEDREC, a member Centre of the GNESD network, was represented at this event by its Executive Director Ms Leila Bahri.
