URBAN AIR POLLUTION IN THE AREA OF TUNIS ( 2008-07-08 )
The second (of two scheduled) field campaign of the duration of three weeks has been concluded in the three urban sites of Bab Saadoun, Ben Arous and El Mourouj, in Tunis.
The first campaign was carried out from March 19 to April 8, 2008.
The campaign has been jointly conducted by Italian National Counsel for Research (CNR), the Tunisian National Agency for the Protection of the Environment (ANPE) and the International Centre for Environmental Technologies (CITET).
The aim of the campaigns was the evaluation of the air quality in the urban area of Tunis, through the measurement of the mass concentration and chemical composition of atmospheric suspended particulate matter in the size dimensions PM10 e PM2.5, the determination of the atmospheric concentration of some non-conventional pollutants and the evaluation of the extent and short-term variations of the atmospheric mixing.
