The annual Assembly of GNESD took place this year at UNEP DTIE in Paris on 2 November 2007. The theme of the Assembly was ‘Energy and Poverty - Improving access to modern forms of energy’  and it was divided into two sessions :
- Morning Session: Access to Modern forms of Energy in Developing Countries
- Afternoon Session: Access to Modern Energy for rural, urban and peri-urban Poor, Energy Security and Finance.

The annual assembly was preceded by  a full working day meeting discussing GNESD affairs which took place year at UNEP DTIE in Paris on 1 November for  the Steering Committee, the Centres and with the attendance of a few of the Industrialised centres.
MEDREC, included as a center of Excellence in the framework of the Global Network on Energy for Sustainable Development (GNESD), was represented at this event by its executive director M.Sami Marrouki .
