SIXTH REEEP PROGRAMME CYCLE: CALL FOR PROPOSALS ( 2007-02-05 )

The Ministry for the Environment Land and See of Italy renovates in 2007 the effort to strengthen the synergy between its actions, in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency in the Mediterranean basin, within the MEDREP initiative, and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP), promoted by the British Government.

 

Thanks also to the support the Ministry for the Environment Land and See of Italy, the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) launches the sixth call for proposal, under which 2 high quality projects, in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency, will be financed in the MEDREC Countries, with the aim:

 

  •  To promote greater uptake of renewable energy and more efficient use of energy to help address climate change,
  •  To strengthen international and regional cooperation on sustainable energy, according to Italian policies and objectives on climate change, renewable energy and energy efficiency, and sustainable development.

 

The projects will address the thematic areas regarding “Business & Finance” and “Policy & Regulation”.

More details about donors’ priorities and objectives, and instruments eligible for funding are given in the call at www.reeep.org.

All public and private organizations, active in the fields of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, are eligible to submit a project proposal.

 

A maximum contribution of 100'000 EURO will be granted to the projects, to be implemented over a 12, 18 or 24 months implementation period, starting from July 2007, in one of the following Countries: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia.

Existing co-financing from the proposer will improve the global valuation.

 

The MEDREC, a Centre established in Tunis within MEDREP framework, will be in charge of receipt and short-listing of the project proposals’. The International Steering Committee will be responsible for the final appraisal and evaluation of project proposals.

 

The timetable for the sixth programme cycle is the following:

 

 Submission of concept proposals: 30th March 2007,

  •  Publication of short-lists: 20th April 2007,
  • Submission of full proposals: 11th May 2007,
  • Publication of final results: 27th June 2007,
  • Project implementation begins: 1st July 2007.

 

All proposals should be submitted electronically using the REEEP Project Bid Form, as indicated in the web-site www.reeep.org, under the section "projects".
