GNESD RETs II consists of 2 phases:

1.      Step 1: Identification of a limited number of niches, according to MEDREC experts’ knowledge, and existing studies, and deeper analysis, with regard to:

        Regional energy needs and potential for renewables

        Previous successful cases in the MEDREC region

2.      Step 2 :On the basis of niches identified in STEP 1 and the results obtained in the phase one by all the other Members centres of GNESD, MEDREC will:

        Select one or two niches and make an in depth analysis

        In parallel MEDREC will move to the policy area by performing a detailed analysis of the STEP 1 results, formulating specific objectives, policy outlines and instruments for the selected niches.
