  : MEDREC has carried out a study on "Development of small irrigations pumping by Renewable Energy" which analysed energy and economic aspects of both conventional pumping and RE pumping and suggested policy outlines for stakeholders.

PROSOL Tunisia 2007 ( 2008-01-30 )

First meeting of the Italian – Tunisian CDM Joint Expert team ( 2007-10-26 )
  In the framework of the cooperation between IMELS and MIEPME in the area of climate change and development and implementation of projects under the Clean Development Mechanism of the Kyoto Protocol, a first meeting of the Italian – Tunisian CDM Joint Expert team has been carried out on the 23rd , 24th and 25th of October in MEDREC.
PROSOL II: Semestrial Report ( 2007-08-01 )
  28 130 m² of SWH were installed during the first 5 months of 2007, which represents 44% of the objective of 2007, in comparison to 18 500 m² installed during the same period in 2006, which represents an increase of 52%.

  21 800 m² of SWH were installed during the first 5 months of 2007, which represents 44% of the objective of 2007, in comparison to 13 693 m² installed during the same period in 2006, which represents an increase of 59%.

SIXTH REEEP PROGRAMME CYCLE: CALL FOR PROPOSALS ( 2007-02-05 )
  the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) launches the sixth call for proposal, under which 2 high quality projects, in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency, will be financed in the MEDREC Countries.
GNESD RETs II: Niches chosen ( 2006-10-18 )
  Within the framework of its participation in the GNESD phase RETs II, MEDREC have chosen two niches to study for an eventual development. MEDREC task is to identify barriers to the development of the two niches and to propose solutions to overcome these barriers. The two niches chosen by MEDREC are: - Solar and Wind pumping for small irrigations - Rationalizing fire wood consumption
Solar pond Project: Signature of the MoU by both parties ( 2006-10-18 )
  A MoU was signed between the Tunisian Ministry for Industry, Energy and Small and Middle-sized Enterprises and the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Territory in order to implement in Tunisia 2 pilot projects exploring improved Solar Pond technology. Is to remind that the wish to explore the Solar Pond technology in Tunisia was emitted by IMET during the visit of the General Director Mr Corrado Clini to Tunisia in the 05-03-2006, The 2 projects which were retained to be financed by IMET: 1. Water heating in a hotel in Tunisia. 2. Irrigation water desalination
Call for proposals from the “Global Opportunities Fund GOF” ( 2006-10-10 )
  Responding to a call for proposals launched by the Global Opportunities Fund (GOF), MEDREC proposed 3 projects: 1. Tri-generation from vegetable waste 2. Photovoltaic installation connected to electricity grid 3. Solar water heating in hotels
PROSOL meeting ( 2006-07-19 )
  In order to promote private partnership between private Tunisian and Italian enterprises involved in the Solar Water Heating sector and interested by the program PROSOL. A meeting is to be organized in Tunis in the 19th July 2006. The meeting intervenient will be representatives of the ANME (Tunisian National agency for Energy Conservation), UNEP (United Nation Environment Program), Tunisian banking sector, Tunisian Private Sector involved in the Industry of Solar Water Heating.
MEDREC participate in the GNESD RETs II: ( 2006-07-07 )
  The GNESD (Global Network on Energy for Sustainable Development) has engaged MEDREC to select one or two niches and to make an in depth analysis of them (A niche is a favourable combination of users, resources, technologies, and capacities within Renewable Energy Technologies).
Creation of Energy conservation system ( 2006-07-06 )
  The Energy Conservation System (ECS) was created within the framework of the national policy for the energy conservation, having for goal the backup actions aiming the rationalization of energy consumption, the renewable energies promotion and energy substitution. It is functional from January 1st 2006 within the framework of the finance law 2006.
Signature of the MoU of the PROSOL tertiary ( 2006-05-03 )
  The 05-03-2006, Mr Corrado Clini, General Director of the Italian Ministry for the Environment and the Territory have made a visit to Tunisia and signed with Mr Rassaa Abdelaziz the General Director of Energy a MoU allowing the Tunisian Government to benefit from a financial backup from the IMET and thus to extend the PROSOL activity to the tertiary sector.

PROSOL 2005 ( 2006-03-30 )
  2005 represented a record year for the installation of solar water heaters in Tunisia. 22 000 m2 of SWH has been installed with the backup of the financing mechanism PROSOL, supported by the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Territory through MEDREC and PNUE.

EVENTS: Celebration for 5 years of MEDREC activities since its establishment ( 0000-00-00 )
  In occasion of the celebration for the 5 years since its creation, the MEDREC will host on march the 26th a workshop on bio-energy and the following day, on march the 27th, a workshop on the electrical grid interconnection between Tunisia and Italy.
