Research on air quality in Tunis

The reduction of air pollution in Tunis is a project that was established under an agreement between the Tunisian Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development and the IMELS, and aims to reduce air pollution in Greater Tunis and this through the measurement and analysis of air quality, and the supply of three Italian construction vehicles running on CNG.

Two measures campaigns of air quality for the analysis of the chemical composition of suspended particles PM10 and PM2, 5 were conducted in 2008 in Tunis in the three stations of the ANPE through the participation of a team of Italian experts from the CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche):

  • The industrial station Ben Arous: a station nearby industrial.
  • The traffic station Bab Saadoun: station relatively close to heavy traffic, located in a car crossroads of the square of Bab Saadoun
  • Mourouj suburban station, located in the park area of Mourouj
