Research on air quality in Tunis

Research on air quality in Tunis

The reduction of air pollution in Tunis is a project that was established under an agreement between the Tunisian Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development and the IMELS, and aims to reduce air pollution in Greater Tunis and this through the measurement and analysis of air quality, and the supply of three Italian construction vehicles running on CNG.

Promotion of Gas Conditioning

The cooling park with natural gas in Tunisia has nearly thirty machines (Robur brand). The majority of these machines are in bad conditions due to obsolete technology choice and the lack of training of skilled labour. The proposed project by MEDREC is based on training, raising awareness, and financial assistance for pilot projects to popularize this technology and create a sustainable market for this technology.

Pilot projects on the Valorisation of Olive Pomace

The production of olive pomace in Tunisia is 300 000 to 500 000 tons / year where 20% (60 000 to 100 000 tons / year) takes place in the North West and the rest in central and southern Tunisia. These amounts are partially exported. The amount of residue produced can be used for heating purposes and in the replacement of energy sources such as LPG.
