Integration of solar thermal technology in the industrial sector

In the framework of key players’ capacity building activities, MEDREC in collaboration with IMELS has organized a training session in Milan about the development of regional competencies through the transfer of technologies and the dissemination of information in the field of renewable energies in the region of southern Mediterranean to the profit of partner countries (Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Egypt).

This event was composed of a workshop, the 26th of March 2009, on bio-energy opportunity and challenges for Mediterranean region, followed by a training session from 26th to 28th of March which addressed the topic of bio-energy under the practical and operational point of view.

Training courses for Tunisian trainers on SWH in Morocco

Within the framework of the policy of energy conservation and renewable energy promotion in particular solar energy, and within the context of PROSOL program, and in order to prepare an adequate professional environment for a perennial development of this determined programme, a training session was designed to train Tunisian trainers in order to improve the skills level of individual SWH installers.

This course was held during 9 days spread over 3 months (April, May, and June 2007) and aimed at addressing the topic of CDM projects development under the practical and operational point of view. Participants were provided with a presentation of concrete experiences while addressing theoretical and technical issues during the development of CDM projects.

Project for reinforcing CDER Training Centre in the Framework of MEDREP

The project was provided for the implementation, in the countries of MEDREC (Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia), of studies on the analysis of local and regional needs in terms of capacity building, technical assistance, quality, standardization, and testing equipment and certification.

Renewable Energy Centre

The MEDREC, based in Tunis, was launched by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Territory. It involves international and governmental Institutions of Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia. The center is the focal point of the Mediterranean Renewable Energy Program.
