MEDREC has organized a Joint Task Force (JTF) meeting on November 30th, 2013 following the articles of the technical agreement signed in the 28th of February 2012 between the Tunisian Ministry of the Industry and Technology and the Italian Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea.

Participants to this meeting were from different entities, namely MEDREC, IMELS, ANME, DGE and STEG.

The JTF has covered the following topics:

  • Status of the pilot project on the utilization of solar thermal energy in the industrial sector and validation of the choice of supplier / installer.
  • Progress of the study on the regulatory framework for the promotion of solar energy in the industrial sector
  • Results of the development of the roadmap for the application of Article 9 of the European Directive 2009/28 /EC
  • Status of the review of the financial mechanism of the Tertiary PROSOL project
  • Progress in the study on the status MEDREC

The Mediterranean

Renewable Energy Centre

The MEDREC, based in Tunis, was launched by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Territory. It involves international and governmental Institutions of Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia. The center is the focal point of the Mediterranean Renewable Energy Program.
